How instasupport uses cookies and similar technologies.
What cookies we use
- Authentication cookie: A secure, HTTP-only session cookie is set when you sign in. This cookie identifies your session and is required for the platform to function.
- Theme preference: A localStorage entry (not a cookie) stores your light/dark mode preference. This never leaves your browser.
- We do not use third-party advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics cookies from external providers on the marketing site.
Essential cookies
- Session authentication: Required for sign-in and workspace access. Expires when you sign out or when the session ends.
- CSRF protection: Used to prevent cross-site request forgery attacks on form submissions.
- These cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled.
Third-party cookies
- When you connect Google integrations (Search Console, GA4, Merchant Center), Google may set cookies during the OAuth authorization flow.
- These cookies are governed by Google's own cookie and privacy policies.
- instasupport does not set or control third-party cookies.
Chat widget
- The instasupport chat widget uses localStorage (not cookies) to maintain conversation state across page navigations on your storefront.
- No tracking cookies are set by the chat widget.
- Visitor identification uses a session-scoped token that does not persist beyond the browser session unless the visitor provides their email.
Managing cookies
- You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings at any time.
- Disabling the authentication cookie will require you to sign in again.
